I’m interested in how the brain takes in sensory signals and transforms them into an understanding and experience of the world around us. As a graduate student in the Theunissen lab, I work with behavioral and electrophysiological data from zebra finches, developing software for identifying and classifying their vocalizations, and using encoding and decoding methods to study the information that is represented in both auditory and neural signals during natural vocal communication. Prior to joining the neuroscience graduate program, I studied physics and astrophysics at Berkeley as an undergraduate student, followed by a stint in industry as a software developer.
